Circle of Tools in the Log Saw sector

TKM recycles used Log Saw Blades, which has many advantages for the environment. The used Log Saw Blades are collected from the customer and the steel mill uses them to produce the steel for new Log Saw Blades.

In detail: The high-quality D2 steel consists of Iron, a high amount of Chromium as well as Vanadium and Molybdenum.

The iron is extracted from iron ore with a high Energy consumption. The iron ore comes mainly from South Africa, Brazil and Australia, which means enormous transport distances.

The most important chromium, vanadium and molybdenum mines are also located far away from Europe, which means long transport distances as well. The processing into a usable alloy is also complex.

The process of bringing all the components together is therefore too complex to calculate the CO2 emissions and energy consumption per ton of D2 steel in detail. However, it is very easy to understand that a ton of used Log Saw Blades, which already contains all the components, is in comparison much more ecological and energy / CO2 saving.

In detail this means...

Our recycling program in detail

Log Saws auf einem Stapel

Collection of your used Log Saws

We are delighted that you have decided to take part in our recycling program. As soon as you have given this notification to your responsible contact person, we will start collecting your used Log Saw Blades.
Metall-schmelzen

Delivery to the steel mill

We take your used Log Saws to our steel mill and the recycling process begins. The Log Saws are melted down and the components are recovered for the production of new Log Saw steel.

Ronden

Production of the round blanks

Our steel supplier uses the steel from the old Log Saw Blades to produce so called circular blanks, which is the primary material for our Log Saw Blades.

Neue-Log-Saw

Production of new Log Saw Blades

TKM starts the production of the new Log Saw Blades. Thanks to the recycling program we can save up to 74,83 kg Co2 per produced Logsaw europe-wide.
