Summary of the project:

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of training and to increase the job potential of the training company. Training content that takes place in other companies or institutions in addition to the company's own in-company training (collaborative training) is supported.

We are very pleased that our project “Resource-efficient production of pre-profiled circular blanks for the innovative manufacture of machine circular knives” (“EffProRonde”) will be funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) from July 1^st, 2019, for a period of three years.

The aim of the “EffProRonde” project, which TKM will carry out together with the Chair of New Manufacturing Technologies and Materials at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and the Chair of Production Systems at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, is to develop and adapt the radial-axial ring rolling process and the subsequent heat treatment steps to reduce the use of materials and resources in the manufacture of axially symmetrical, flat semi-finished tool steel products for the production of circular knives.

We are looking forward to the next three project years, accompanied by the cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.

The project "Resource-efficient production of shape-ground metallic products with subsequent up-cycling of process waste materials" - EffProSchliffUp for short - aims to contribute to closing energy and material cycles within and outside companies.

To this end, the project team is developing a process for the preparation and recycling of the waste metal and grinding particles using the example of machine circular knives. The innovative, technical approach pursued in the project is initially aimed at cleaning and drying the grinding waste. The grinding waste is then separated into metallic particles and grinding abrasives. The last planned step will then focus on the recycling of the separated components.

We are looking forward to the next three project years, accompanied by the cooperation with the companies Knoll Maschinenbau GmbH from Bad Saulgau, Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG from Wuppertal and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
