Checklist circular knife setting
- 1. Check stability of the knife holder
- 2. Check concentricity, max. 0,03 mm (axial concentricity should be max. 0,01 mm)
- 3. Check the cutting point – the anvil should lift the paper web max. 1,0 mm
- 4. Check cant angle, if necessary, service the knife holder
- 5. overlap max. 1,0 mm
- 6. Check overspeed – optimally the upper knife is 0,5 m/s faster than the paper web
- 7. Surface quality of the knife should be at least Ra 0,4 µm
- 8. Check lateral contact pressure, it should be kept to a minimum
- 9. Optimal cutting angle on the bottom knife is 1-3°
