- Apart from very few exceptions, we only come upon old machines and facilities, which generate problems with the knives due to their condition. The developments of the cutting material would need different machines these days. Most customers are aware of these problems, but have to get by with the existing machinery.

- Provided that the storage or guiding of the knives is in order, the use of HSS and carbide knives can be resorted to.
- With so-called cut-off knives, full stellite has led to very good cutting results.
