Durability Steel Cord Shear Knife
- The lifetime of a steel cord shear knife is measured solely through the number of transacted cuts
- Customers (especially new ones) expect guaranteed lifetimes
- We cannot give any guaranties, because
A) we do not know the condition of cutter bar and duct
B) we cannot be sure, that only one type of material is cut throughout the whole lifetime
C) we cannot influence the quality of assembly and the adjustment of the cutting gap - Nowadays we noticed, that the knifes lifetime drastically decreases with decreasing thickness of steel cord. This largely has to do with the cutting gap, which cannot be adjusted to zero.
