Grade of Carton Board of the Core

The core material is in most cases made of recycled low-quality carton board. This includes the possibility, that the carton board contains sand and/or glass and/or metal particles. The cutting edge of the blade might chip if it hits such hard particles. The result is a bad cutting quality.

• In these cases the operator can will usually perform a manual grinding (see previous page), usually it requires several regular grinding processes before the bad cut disappears.
• The only possibility to avoid this problem is a higher quality grade of the carton board.
