Scratches of the cutting surface
Radial scratches/ grooves appear on the cutting surface.
- This could have been caused by one or more twisted teeth within the segment or ring.
Solution: Dismantlement of the tool or repair (levelling) - An uneven side-clearance of the carbide tooth can also cause these scratches.
Possible causes for the uneven lateral projection: Production error or error during edge sharpening of the carbide tooth
Solution: Dismantlement of the tool or repair (edge sharpening) - A similar error pattern might appear, if the knife is not stationed the right way (dirt, adjustment screw)
Solution: dismantle and reposition knife – pay attention to a clean installation area, as well as adjusting the length of the adjustment screw
