Wood chips quality during flaking
During the process of flaking wood chips arise, which are liable to certain quality criteria. The regular examination of the wood chips quality is routine work in a sawmill. Due to the addition of supporting sieves/filter machine operators are able to recognize the quantity ofover-sized wood chips.
This error may occur, if:
- the applied canter/flaker knife might be dull
Solution: Dismantle knife and re-grind/ replace - the rate of rotation of the flaker-disc is not calibrated to the cutting program.
