Wood chip quality (Chipping)

The customer notices an increasing amount of too small and/or oversized wood chips.

Knives (chop knives, counter knives) are dull and therefore they don’t chip the wood accordingly.

Timely re-sharpening of chipper knives and counter knives

Important tips:

Speed of the installation (rotational frequency) needs to be checked and adjusted as specified by the manufacturer
To increase the quantity of “acceptable wood chips” especially in the pulp industry, customers vary by/with angle geometry, pre-bevels or counter-bevels on chipper knives
